According to operational information as of 8:00 AM, at least six people have died as a result of the nighttime shelling, and another 16 have been injured. However, rescue operations are ongoing, so the number of casualties may rise.
“The shelling affected the Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts,” the report states.
The Shevchenkivskyi district suffered the most, where the entrance of a multi-story residential building was completely destroyed. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, people may still be trapped under the rubble.
According to the Kyiv police, during the attack, Russia used drones and ballistic missiles. Among the injured are two children. Significant damage was inflicted not only on residential buildings but also on business centers, educational and medical institutions, a metro station, and private vehicles.
Damaged Infrastructure and Emergency Measures
The Kyiv City State Administration clarified that the exit from the “Sviatoshyn” metro station and the surrounding area, including the public transport stop, were damaged during the shelling. As a result, traffic on Ivan Vyhovskyi Street has been blocked, and the routes of some trolleybuses and buses have been changed. The metro operates as usual, except for the “Sviatoshyn” station, where one of the exits is temporarily closed.

In addition to the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Sviatoshynskyi district saw damage to office spaces, dining establishments, and trade pavilions near the metro. In the Solomianskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, business centers and vehicles were damaged, while in the Podilskyi district, windows were shattered in high-rise buildings. A private house was damaged in the Darnytskyi district.
Law enforcement officials recorded that in the Shevchenkivskyi district, the shockwave also damaged the windows of a nearby 25-story building, burned parked cars, and shattered windows in seven other buildings.
According to the Kyiv prosecutor’s office, among the injured is a 15-year-old girl. Additionally, debris from a Russian missile hit the KPI swimming pool, causing serious damage to the facility.
More than 300 rescuers and 74 units of equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack, working at two main locations.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated a pre-trial investigation into the war crime that resulted in civilian casualties.
