The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski sharply condemned the Russian airstrike on Vinnytsia, which occurred on July 16. One of the targets hit during the attack was the Barlinek factory, a Polish company specializing in the production of parquet boards and other types of flooring.
Consequences of the Attack and the Polish Response
Sikorski reported that the factory director suspects a deliberate attack from three directions. As a result of the strike, people were injured, including two who sustained severe burns. Ukrainian services and representatives from the Polish consulate are working at the scene. The minister emphasized that such actions demonstrate the dangerous approach of Russian aggression to Polish borders.
“The factory director just told me that this was done deliberately, from three directions. There are injured, two of whom have severe burns. Ukrainian services are working at the scene, as well as our consulate. Putin’s criminal war is approaching our borders.”
Scale of Destruction and the Position of the International Community
The total number of injured as a result of the Russian strike in Vinnytsia region has reached eight people. According to the State Emergency Service, Russia struck two civilian industrial sites, resulting in large-scale fires.
Russian troops systematically use various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems, attacking Ukrainian regions. Despite this, Russian leadership denies the intentionality of attacks on civilian infrastructure, although such strikes lead to the destruction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and energy and water supply facilities.
Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these actions as war crimes of the Russian Federation, emphasizing their deliberate nature and threat to the civilian population.
