Ukraine’s Position on the Peace Process
According to Yermak, Ukraine remains open to dialogue and is ready for a peace process, including the possibility of a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine, the US, and the Russian Federation. He emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelensky has consistently stressed the readiness for negotiations in any format and at any location since the talks in Istanbul.
“It is very important to immediately stop all discussions – no one from the American side is pressuring Ukraine regarding any territories,” emphasized the head of the Office of the President after the meeting with US Special Representative Steven Vitkoff.
International Statements and Ceasefire Conditions
Earlier, US President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of a “territorial exchange” between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the return of part of the occupied territories to Ukraine. According to him, this issue is complex but possible and involves a certain exchange of territories beneficial to both sides.
At the same time, the leader of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, expressed readiness to agree to a complete ceasefire on the condition that Ukrainian troops withdraw from the entire Donetsk region. This position was voiced during a meeting with Trump’s Special Representative, Steven Vitkoff.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will not agree to cede its territories to Russia, which remains a fundamental position of the Ukrainian authorities in negotiations to end the war.
