The Number of Combat Clashes on the Front Increased to 179 in a Day: Significant Enemy Losses

On August 23, there were 179 combat clashes on the front, with Ukrainian defenders facing increased pressure from Russian troops but holding their positions in key areas.

Main Directions of Combat Operations and Enemy Attacks

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defense forces repelled four enemy attacks. The occupiers launched eight airstrikes, using 25 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 176 artillery shellings against Ukrainian positions.

The Southern Slobozhansky direction remained tense: Russian troops attempted to break through the defense ten times in the areas of Vovchansk, Ambarne, Kam’yanka, and towards Zelenyi.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made six offensive attempts in the area of Zahryzove and towards Kupiansk. The Lyman direction experienced 20 attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Kolodiaziv, Myrnyi, as well as in the directions of Shandryholove, Dronivka, and Serebrianka.

The Siversky direction was also active: the enemy attempted to advance 12 times in the areas of Hryhorivka, Pereizne, Fedorivka, and towards Siversk.

Situation on the Eastern and Southern Frontiers

In the Kramatorsk direction, there were 16 clashes in the area of Chasiv Yar and in the directions of Markove, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora. In the Toretsk direction, the occupiers attacked ten times near Shcherbynivka and in the directions of Pleshchiyivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, and Popove Yar.

The highest number of assaults was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction — there, defense forces stopped 52 attempts by the enemy to break through near Mayak, Nikanorivka, Novo Shakhove, Krasnyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhy Yar, Lysivka, Zviriv, Kotlyne, Udachny, Horikhove, Novoukrainka, and in the directions of Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Balahan, Molodetske, and Filia.

The Novopavlivsk direction remained active — here, the enemy made 33 attacks in the areas of Vilyke Pole, Maliivka, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, Olhivka, as well as in the directions of Filia, Ivanivka, and Zaporizhzhia.

In the Huliaipole direction, no combat clashes were recorded, while in the Orikhiv direction, defense forces repelled one enemy attack near Kam’yanske. In the Dnipro direction, the enemy attempted to attack twice but was unsuccessful.
