U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to participate in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, should they occur. According to him, it is important for Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky to be personally present at the negotiating table. This position was articulated by White House representative Caroline Levitt on June 2.

Conditions for Participation in the Talks
According to Caroline Levitt, Donald Trump is open to participating in a peace meeting, but only on the condition that both leaders – Putin and Zelensky – join the negotiations together. This underscores the desire for dialogue between the leaders of the countries to achieve a potential resolution.
“The President said he is open to this if it comes to that, but he wants both leaders and both sides to sit down at the negotiating table together.”
Turkey’s Initiative and Ukraine’s Position
Recently, following another round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan proposed a meeting between Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul or Ankara. The Turkish leader described the recent talks in Istanbul as “great” and expressed his intention to organize a similar summit in the near future.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also supported the idea of a meeting, but noted that he does not expect an immediate ceasefire as a result of it.
