The collection of the State Aviation Museum named after O. Antonov has expanded with two exceptional exhibits — the An-2P aircraft and the rare An-6, which are currently undergoing restoration.

History of the Arrival of New Aircraft
Both aircraft had been stored at the airfield in Borodyanka for decades. Thanks to the responsible attitude of the members of the public organization “ARAU”, the machines remained in excellent condition. Following a decision made by the Association, the aircraft were officially transferred to the museum fund, and from now on they are part of the state collection of the Museum Fund of Ukraine.
“Our open-air exhibition has been enriched with two valuable exhibits — the uniquely historical An-2P and the rare high-altitude An-6,” the statement reads.
Restoration and Significance of the Exhibits
The museum director Valeriya Lavrenko reported that the restoration team is already working on the recovery program for both aircraft. As a result of the repair work, the An-2P will be able to take to the skies again as an operational exhibit, while the An-6 will enhance the collection of the rarest Antonov aircraft displayed in the museum.
The An-2P is a multipurpose aircraft known for its reliability, versatility, and increased passenger cabin comfort. The An-6, on the other hand, is a unique high-altitude aircraft built in an extremely limited series (up to 10 units), and this specimen is the only preserved representative of its type in Ukraine.
