Ukraine and Canada Sign Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Subsoil Use

Ukraine and Canada have officially begun cooperation in the field of geology and subsoil use. The State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, together with the Geological Survey of Canada, signed a corresponding agreement that foresees active interaction between the two countries on issues related to the development of the mineral resource complex.

Coordinating Committee and Main Objectives of the Program

Within the framework of the signed document, a Ukrainian-Canadian Coordinating Committee on Mineral Resources will be established. This body will become the main platform for implementing joint initiatives, exchanging professional experience, and introducing modern methods in the field of natural resource management.

The committee will focus on forming a transparent and modern mineral sector, as well as on the digitization of geological data. An important part of the cooperation will be attracting strategic investors, which will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s economic stability and energy security.

Duration and Prospects of Cooperation

The cooperation program between Ukraine and Canada is planned for two years. During this period, the parties intend to implement a number of joint projects in the field of subsoil use, information exchange, and technologies, which will enhance the competitiveness of the Ukrainian industry and introduce international standards in the field of subsoil management.

The document provides for the establishment of a Ukrainian-Canadian Coordinating Committee on Mineral Resources, which will serve as a platform for implementing joint initiatives, exchanging experiences, and introducing modern approaches to natural resource management.
