A New Stage of Cooperation Between Ukraine and Middle Eastern Countries
According to the head of state, the signed agreement paves the way for the implementation of joint projects in the military-industrial complex, the establishment of joint production facilities, and technological partnerships between enterprises of both countries.
“We discussed how to ensure greater protection of lives in our countries and agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation in the defense sector for at least 10 years,” the President of Ukraine wrote on Telegram.
Immediately after the negotiations, the chiefs of the general staffs of Ukraine and Qatar signed the relevant agreement, marking another step in the development of defense cooperation.
President Zelensky also announced the signing of a similar agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the coming days. It is worth noting that Ukraine recently concluded a similar agreement with Saudi Arabia. Under these agreements, the development of joint production capacities and the launch of defense product manufacturing lines are planned both in Ukraine and in partner states.
Ukrainian Experts Assist in Countering Iranian Drones
In March, the president reported that Ukraine continues to provide support to Middle Eastern countries in defending against Iranian attacks. Currently, there are 201 Ukrainian experts in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region specializing in countering Iranian drones of the “Shahed” type. An additional 34 specialists are ready to join the efforts if necessary. In particular, Ukrainian specialists are already working in Saudi Arabia.
The President of Ukraine also offers Middle Eastern countries a mutual exchange of technologies and experience in the field of security, expecting in return the supply of missiles for air defense systems.
