According to Zelensky, Ukrainian diplomats are already working on the details of this invitation. The President emphasized that the leader of the Russian Federation has also been invited to the Peace Council, and Belarus is considered an ally of Russia in this process.

“Honestly, it is still very difficult for me to imagine how we can be together with Russia in any council. And this does not pertain to this Peace Council. Russia is about a council of war. And Belarus is with them, namely the Lukashenko regime.”

U.S. President Donald Trump previously confirmed that he invited Vladimir Putin to participate in the Peace Council, which is related to resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko has also received an invitation.

Geography of Participants and Funding

In addition to Ukraine, the Presidents of Turkey, Egypt, and Argentina have also been invited to the Peace Council. According to Reuters, potential participants include the leaders of France, Germany, and Australia, while the European Union will be represented by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has expressed agreement to participate, emphasizing that Canada will not pay a fee for a seat on the Council, and the U.S. has not imposed any financial requirements. However, according to preliminary information, for permanent membership, a country must pay one billion dollars.

As reported by an unnamed American official to Bloomberg, the funds raised are intended to be directed towards fulfilling the mandate of the Peace Council regarding the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
