Заступник голови МЗС зустрівся з очільником посольства Польщі через ситуацію на кордоні

On the night of June 15, Kremenchuk in the Poltava region suffered a powerful combined attack from the Russian Federation, which used missiles and drones. The massive shelling caused serious damage to the city’s energy and agricultural infrastructure, as well as to private housing and transportation. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the civilian population.

Consequences of the Massive Attack

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the explosions and debris from the shells led to numerous fires, which were promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service firefighters. In addition to energy and agricultural facilities, private homes, vehicles, and power lines were also hit. In the Chutiv community, drone debris damaged residential buildings and cars, but there were no casualties.

“The targets were energy and agricultural infrastructure. The explosions and debris caused fires and damage to residential buildings and transportation. Fortunately, there were no injuries,” the ministry noted.

Position of the Foreign Ministry and Appeals to the International Community

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that statements or words alone are not enough to stop the aggression of the Russian Federation. “It understands only the language of force. Today, the world must impose the strictest possible sanctions to force Russia to peace, as well as strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities to protect our people,” the ministry stressed.

The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut, clarified that most enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces. At the same time, energy and agricultural infrastructure, as well as private property of citizens, were damaged in Kremenchuk and its surroundings. Kremenchuk’s mayor, Vitaliy Maletskyi, added that the city’s services promptly localized all fires at the impact sites and continue to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

Russian troops systematically attack Ukrainian regions with strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and rocket artillery. Despite the Russian leadership’s denials regarding attacks on civilian infrastructure, Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify such strikes as war crimes and emphasize their targeted nature.
