Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the launch of a direct train connection between Kyiv and Bucharest, which will take effect from October 10. The new international route will allow passengers to travel daily between Ukraine and Romania without transfers, significantly enhancing the convenience and speed of travel.

Route Details and Schedule

The train will connect Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhmerinka, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Velchynets, Ungheni, Iași, and Bucharest. Departure from Kyiv is scheduled for 06:30, arriving in Bucharest at 06:47 the following day. In the opposite direction, the train departs from Bucharest at 19:10 and arrives in Kyiv at 19:41 the next day.

“The train will arrive at Bucharest’s central station – Gara de Nord. From this station, there are regular fast trains to the airport. The ticket price for a compartment car is approximately 3800 UAH. Tickets can already be purchased through the Ukrzaliznytsia app or website,” the statement reads.

Significance for International Integration

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine emphasized that the launch of the new route is an important step towards further integrating Ukraine into the European transport space. The new railway connection opens additional opportunities for travel, business, and cultural exchange between Ukraine and EU countries.
