Umerov Announced the Results of the 27th Meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov provided information on the results of the 27th meeting of the Defense Contact Group in the “Ramstein” format. It was noted that Ukraine is actively cooperating with international partners to strengthen air defense, and concrete results have already been achieved that will allow for better protection of airspace from aggressive attacks.

Umerov stated that since the previous meeting, partners have announced the allocation of over 21 billion dollars in security assistance to Ukraine. Among the main areas of support, the following steps were highlighted:

Main Proposals from Partners

  • Germany: In 2025, the transfer of 4 IRIS-T air defense systems and 300 interceptor missiles is planned. Additionally, 30 Patriot missiles, 15 Leopard-1 tanks, 25 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, and an extra 100,000 artillery shells will be provided. In total, the amount of additional assistance by 2029 will reach 11 billion euros.
  • United Kingdom: Will provide assistance amounting to 450 million pounds, which includes hundreds of thousands of drones, radar systems, and repairs of previously provided equipment.
  • Norway: Allocated 100 million pounds to fund the aid package announced by the United Kingdom and increased military support in 2025 by 5 billion euros, particularly for ammunition and air defense/anti-missile systems.
  • Belgium: Announced a military aid package worth 1 billion euros.
  • Denmark: Confirmed the provision of 25 military aid packages totaling nearly 900 million euros.
  • Lithuania: Plans to allocate 20 million euros for the purchase of ammunition.
  • Estonia: Will soon provide Ukraine with 10,000 artillery shells and dry rations for the Armed Forces.
  • Netherlands: Allocating 150 million euros to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.

One of the important outcomes of the meeting was the initiative to create an Electronic Warfare coalition led by Germany. The meeting, chaired by the United Kingdom and Germany, involved 51 countries. The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine needs at least 10 Patriot systems to counter Russian ballistic missiles.
