Zelensky: Russia Remains the Sole Cause of the War in Ukraine

ППО, миротворці та виробництво зброї в Україні: Зеленський анонсував теми «Рамштайну»

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his address to participants of the “Ramstein” format meeting, noted that the past month has clearly demonstrated that Russia is the sole cause of the war in Ukraine. According to him, it is necessary to ensure stable and sufficient defense support, as well as to focus on joint pressure on Russia so that the conflict can finally be resolved through peace negotiations.

Zelensky emphasized that “only the most difficult conditions for Russia on the battlefield and in international relations can compel it to engage in a genuine peace process.” He reminded that a month has passed since Russia rejected the U.S. proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire.

“This month has clearly shown: Russia is the sole cause of this war. Without strength against Russia, there will be no willingness in Russia to accept any realistic proposals for peace,”

the president stated.

Call for Support and the Need for Patriot Systems

Zelensky also appealed to the international community to focus on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, reiterating the request for 10 Patriot systems. “We really need this. Ten Patriot systems are available in the free world. Political decisions are now needed to make these systems work for peace,” he added.

Ceasefire and Diplomatic Contacts

In recent weeks, numerous meetings and phone calls have taken place between Ukraine and the U.S., as well as between Russia and the U.S. regarding the possibility of a ceasefire. In particular, an agreement was reached on a 30-day ceasefire; however, the Russian side has put forward its conditions, leaving the question of peace open.
