Last night in Kyiv, an incident occurred at the Alley of Heroes, where law enforcement officers detained a woman who caused damage to the memorial and created a disturbance. According to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv, a 33-year-old local resident, while in a state of alcohol or drug intoxication, scattered flowers and damaged photographs of fallen defenders of Ukraine located in the flowerbed.

Police officers clarified that passersby attempted to calm the woman, but only the patrol unit was able to detain her and take her into custody. She was unable to explain her actions. The detainee was taken to the police station to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and the issue of the legal qualification of her actions is also being addressed.

Increased Security Measures Near the Monument

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, announced on social media that he is preparing an order to strengthen security measures in the area of the memorial. In particular, a ban on entertainment events in Maidan and other mass gatherings (except for solemn commemorative events) is planned. The issuance and review of permits for commercial activities in this area, including entertainers, balloons, and photo zones, will also be prohibited.
