Zelensky Calls for Pressure on Russia to Achieve Peace

якщо Україна не буде в НАТО, їй потрібна армія в 1,5 млн військових

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in his evening video address, urged the international community to increase pressure on Russia in order to achieve peace. He noted that the brutality and scale of Russian attacks highlight how indifferent the president of the aggressor country is to diplomacy.

“The geography and brutality of Russian strikes not only sometimes but literally every day, every night, show how little Putin cares about diplomacy. We have had the American proposal for an unconditional ceasefire for several weeks now. And in response to this proposal, we are faced daily with Russian drones, Russian bombs, artillery shelling, and ballistic missiles,” Zelensky stated.

Discussion of Peace Proposals

In addition, the President of Ukraine shared information about his conversation with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb. Stubb, who spoke with American leader Donald Trump, emphasized that Trump’s patience with Russia is wearing thin, and the U.S. has “far-reaching” plans if Russia does not agree to peace terms.

Threat of Sanctions

Trump also expressed his readiness to implement secondary tariffs ranging from 25% to 50% on all Russian oil if he believes that Moscow is obstructing his efforts to stop the war in Ukraine.
