The Need for Common Positions and Diplomacy
Zelensky highlighted that it is crucial for Ukraine to act together right now, supporting one another during this challenging time of war. He noted that a unified stance within the state is essential for achieving a dignified peace. The President reminded everyone about the negotiations in Geneva and drew attention to the issue of prisoner exchanges, thanking the military for their efforts in replenishing the exchange fund for Ukraine.
“And it is precisely the courage of our warriors that ensures all of this: both humanitarian results and, in general, our capacity for diplomacy, our strong diplomatic positions,” he said.
The Importance of Unity in Times of War
The President remarked that any other policy in Ukraine at this moment is inappropriate, as the country is in a state of war. He urged everyone to focus on defending the state and the interests of the people, postponing personal matters for the future. Zelensky thanked every Ukrainian who is defending the country in various roles and fulfilling their duties in the name of national interests.
Earlier, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and now Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valeriy Zaluzhny, spoke in an interview with the Associated Press about the differences with the President regarding approaches to defense strategy following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
