Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported significant successes of the Ukrainian military on the southern front. In his interview, he stated that the Defense Forces units liberated 300 square kilometers of territory. Although the head of state did not specify the exact period during which this advance took place, he expressed gratitude to the military for their work.

“I will not reveal too many details, but today I can congratulate our army, first of all – all the Defense Forces – because as of today, 300 (square) kilometers have been liberated,” Zelensky said, without disclosing the timeframe in which this occurred.
Impact of Starlink Shutdown for Russian Troops
The president also confirmed that Ukrainian forces took advantage of the situation that arose due to the shutdown of Starlink satellite communication terminals for Russian troops. According to him, this weakened the enemy and allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out effective counterattacks in certain areas of the front.
Earlier, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk reported that the company took measures to stop the unauthorized use of Starlink by Russia, and these actions have already yielded results. Following this, Russian propagandists and so-called military correspondents complained about significant disruptions in satellite internet access in Russian units at the front. There were also reports of Starlink shutdowns in temporarily occupied cities, where it was used due to a lack of communication.
Operational Situation on the Southern Front
According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian army is conducting localized counterattacks, exploiting the enemy’s weak points near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Experts note that Ukrainian forces are likely benefiting from the blocking of Starlink and the Telegram messenger for Russian troops, complicating the coordination of the occupiers’ actions.
Thus, the liberation of 300 square kilometers of territory resulted from the successful tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the impact of modern technologies that enable Ukrainian military personnel to enhance the effectiveness of operations on the southern front.
