The Importance of Starlink for Ukraine During the War

Starlink is one of the key tools for maintaining communications in the challenging conditions of martial law. Poland continues to provide financial assistance to ensure that Ukrainian military, emergency services, and critical infrastructure remain connected even in the most difficult circumstances.

“Poland continues to fund over 29,000 Starlink terminals in Ukraine. This guarantees that, despite the difficulties, our people can stay connected”

Blocking Starlink for the Russian Army

In February 2026, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated that measures aimed at stopping the unauthorized use of Starlink by Russia had yielded the expected results. Following an agreement between Ukraine and SpaceX to block unregistered terminals, Russian military so-called military correspondents reported significant disruptions in access to satellite internet at the front. It was also reported that the internet ceased to function in occupied cities where Starlink was used due to the lack of alternative communication channels.
