Massive Attacks on Kyiv and Regions

According to the president, last night Russian forces used over two hundred drones and a significant number of ballistic missiles, with Kyiv and other major cities being the primary targets. Zelensky highlighted that the aim of the Russian tactics is to leave Ukrainian cities without electricity, leading to serious disruptions in heating and water supply for the civilian population.

“The most financially secure city in Ukraine – and all necessary backup schemes should be in place.”

A Threat to All of Europe

Separately, the president focused on the fact that Russia has used new ballistic missiles “Oreshnik” against the Lviv region. He stressed that this poses similar challenges for many European capitals, including Warsaw, Bucharest, and Budapest. Zelensky stated that the Russian Federation is not even trying to come up with reasons for using such weapons, and no personal connections or diplomatic rhetoric can protect against such threats.

As a result of the nighttime attack on Kyiv, during which dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones were used, the capital of Ukraine was partially left without electricity, and there were significant disruptions in heating and water supply. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, reported that heating has already been restored in over a thousand residential buildings in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Darnytskyi districts, although around 6,000 apartment buildings remained without heat after the shelling.
