Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has scheduled a visit to the Czech Republic on May 4, where he will meet with its president, Petr Pavel. This was reported by the administration of the Czech head of state. According to the information, Petr Pavel will host Zelensky and his wife Olena at Prague Castle, although the exact time of the meeting has not yet been specified.

Earlier, Czech media reported Zelensky’s intention to come to Prague, but there was no official confirmation of this information. Pavel’s office stated that he would host the Ukrainian leader on Sunday, which will result in restricted access to the Castle. Accordingly, the entire area will be closed from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the last entry planned for 10:30 AM local time.

The last similar events in Prague took place in 2023 when Volodymyr Zelensky visited the city. At that time, there were traffic restrictions and area closures in the Czech capital to ensure security.

Minimizing Disruptions During Official Visits

Czech police spokesperson Ondřej Moravčík noted that during Zelensky’s visit in 2023, there are no plans to close roads in the city. He stated,

“There are no plans to close roads due to the visit of a foreign state official.”

During the previous visit in 2023, the Czech Republic confirmed its readiness to support Ukraine with additional military assistance. This included the transfer of attack helicopters, large-caliber ammunition, and assistance in training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
