Over the past day, there were 128 combat clashes at the front, and the losses of Russian troops reached 1,150.

Situation on Key Frontline Directions
On October 17, two combat clashes were recorded in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. The occupiers carried out eight airstrikes, dropped 18 guided bombs, and opened 154 shellings of Ukrainian army positions and populated areas, including two shellings from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops conducted 18 attacks near Vovchansk, Zapadne, as well as towards Bologivka, Kutiivka, Obukhivka, and Kolodiaznyi.
In the Kupiansk area, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven assaults in Pishchane, Petropavlivka, and on the approaches to the city.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attempted to advance 13 times near Hrekivka, Karpivka, Torske, Shandryholove, Drobysheve, and towards Korovyi Yar.
Seven attacks by Russian forces were repelled in the Sloviansk direction — in the areas of Pereizne, Hryhorivka, Dronivka, and Yampil.
In the Kramatorsk and Huliaipole directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions over the past day.
Heavy Fighting and Enemy Losses
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the aggressor launched 12 attacks in the areas of Toretske, Shcherbynivka, Rusynyi Yar, as well as towards Kostiantynivka and Berestke.
The most combat clashes occurred in the Pokrovsk direction — 37 assault and offensive actions by the Russians were halted near Shakhove, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Molodetske, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Zviriv, Kotlyne, Udačne, Filia, as well as towards Novopavlivka and Pokrovsk.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the occupiers stormed Ukrainian troops’ positions 14 times towards Orestopil and in the areas of Oleksandrhrad, Sichneve, Novomykolaivka, Novohryhorivka, Veseloe, and Malynivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, three attacks were recorded near Kamianske, Stepnohirske, and Stepove. In the Dnipro direction, the enemy made one attempt to advance towards the Antonivskyi Bridge but failed.
“Overall, over the past day, the losses of Russian invaders amounted to 1,150 personnel, one tank, two armored combat vehicles, 41 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, one aircraft, 498 operational-tactical level drones, 131 units of automotive equipment, and two units of special equipment.”
The operational situation remains tense; however, Ukrainian forces continue to hold the defense and inflict significant losses on the enemy across various sections of the front.
