Rescue operations continue in the capital following the night attack

On the night of October 22, Kyiv was subjected to a combined missile and drone strike by Russian occupiers. As a result of this attack, civilians were affected – at least two people have been reported dead, and five others have sustained injuries. Among the injured is a two-year-old child, all of whom have been hospitalized for medical assistance.

Extent of Destruction in Various Districts of Kyiv

In four districts of the city – Dnipro, Pechersk, Darnytsia, and Solomianskyi – fires broke out in residential buildings and infrastructure facilities due to debris from downed munitions. Significant damage was inflicted on private vehicles, with many cars destroyed or damaged.

“The capital has suffered at the hands of Russian terrorists. Residential buildings are on fire, cars are burning, windows are shattered, and roofs are destroyed,” wrote Tymur Tkachenko.

In the Dnipro district, drone debris struck a residential building on the sixth floor, causing a fire and the death of one person. Ten individuals were rescued. In another part of this district, debris fell into the courtyard of a high-rise building, damaging windows with the shockwave, but fortunately, there was no fire.

As a result of the shelling, the premises of a medical facility in the Dnipro district were also damaged – part of the windows were shattered, but there were no reports of injuries.

In the Pechersk district, debris fell on the roof of a three-story residential building. A fire broke out, leading to partial destruction of the second and third floors.

Consequences of the destruction in Kyiv

In the Darnytsia district, a strike was recorded on a 17-story residential building, resulting in a large fire on the 14th and 15th floors. A fire also broke out on the third floor of another apartment building. Preliminary reports indicate that two people were injured here, including one child.

Additionally, debris from a downed drone hit the premises of a company, causing a fire in a two-story building and a hangar. Another woman was injured by debris from a non-residential building, and she is currently receiving assistance on-site.

In the Solomianskyi district, debris from munitions fell on the territory of a garage cooperative, causing further destruction.

Due to the consequences of the air terror in the capital, emergency power outages have been implemented according to the report from NEC “Ukrenergo”.

Rescue services, doctors, and other emergency services are working at the incident sites to mitigate the aftermath of the night attack.
