Details of Military Assistance from Canada

According to Mark Carney, of the additional $2 billion that Canada promised to provide at the G7 summit in June, over $1 billion will be directed specifically towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The Canadian government will ensure the supply of drones, modern ammunition, and armored vehicles. This military assistance is expected to arrive within the next month.

“At the G7 summit in June, Canada promised an additional $2 billion in military assistance. Today, I proudly announce that over $1 billion of this amount will be directed towards enhancing your arsenal of weapons – through the supply of drones, ammunition, and armored vehicles, which will arrive next month,” he said.

In addition to military support, Canada will allocate tens of millions of dollars for emergency assistance, including the establishment of bomb shelters and measures to counter cyberattacks. This will help strengthen the protection of the civilian population and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

International Support and Symbolic Events

Mark Carney also emphasized that Canada, as a co-chair of the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, will enhance cooperation with Ukraine, European countries, and the United States. The main goal is to achieve the swift and unconditional return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia.

On Ukraine’s Independence Day, U.S. President’s Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, arrived in Kyiv.
