Uniting Choral Traditions from Different Countries

The concert in Kyiv will be part of a large tour that has already taken place in Lviv and Bila Tserkva. The aim of the project is to combine contemporary Ukrainian choral music with works by composers from countries that have actively supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. The performance is organized to promote cultural dialogue and support the idea of unity among nations.

“For me, this is not just a choral project, but a collective prayer and gratitude that unites different cultures into one harmony. We want the audience to feel the light, hope, and strength of unity,” said conductor and choir master Vitaliy Mulyar.

Unique Concert Program

Performed by the National Academic Choir named after Pavlo Chubynsky, guests will hear works by sixteen composers that illustrate the diversity of choral aesthetics from the 20th to the 21st centuries. The program includes minimalist pieces by Valentyn Sylvestrov to large-scale sacred music by Sven-David Sandström, from the delicate harmonies of Erik Esenvalds to the expressive energy of Volodymyr Zubitsky. Many of these compositions are rarely heard on the Ukrainian stage, and some will be performed for the first time.

Among the Ukrainian authors are Valentyn Sylvestrov, Yevhen Stankovych, Hanna Havrylets, Lesya Dychko, Viktor Stepurko, Iryna Aleksiichuk, Viktor Hrytsyshyn, and Volodymyr Zubitsky.

The international part of the program features Vytautas Miškinis (Lithuania), Erik Esenvalds (Latvia), Pärt Uusberg (Estonia), Jean Sibelius (Finland), Knut Nystedt (Norway), Sven-David Sandström (Sweden), Andrew Lloyd Webber (England), and Karl Jenkins (Wales).

Admission to the concert is free, subject to prior registration.
