International Lineup of Participants and Uniqueness of the Event
The soloists of the marathon will be pianists from various countries: Maria Pukhlyanko from Ukraine, Yael Koldovski from Israel, Elisabeth Nielsen from Denmark, and Julia Sadaunikaitė from Lithuania. This selection of participants highlights international support for Ukraine, as all of them represent countries that have actively assisted the Ukrainian people since the onset of the full-scale war.
“The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that for the first time on the professional stage of Ukraine, the complete cycle of concerts by the outstanding German composer Ludwig van Beethoven will be recreated over two days,” said Maxim Husak, the director and chief conductor of the National Presidential Orchestra.
According to Maxim Husak, the pianists immediately agreed to participate in the event despite the danger and traveled to Kyiv to take part in this large-scale musical project.
Honoring the Legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven is an outstanding German composer, pianist, and conductor who became one of the central figures in world musical culture. His work combines elements of classicism and romanticism, and his numerous symphonies, sonatas, and concertos have become defining masterpieces that symbolize the strength of spirit and the struggle against fate. Despite his progressing deafness, Beethoven composed nine concertos, of which five are for piano, one for violin, and one triple concerto for violin, cello, and piano, as well as several lesser-known works, bringing the total number of major concert works for orchestra to nine.
