Суд захистив історичну будівлю в центрі столиці

The appellate court ruled in favor of preserving the historical Tereshchenko estate, located in the very center of Kyiv at 34 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard. Thus, the developer has been denied permission to reconstruct this landmark into an office center, even with the preservation of the building’s façade.

The Role of the Community and Legal Institutions

The unique architectural monument was protected thanks to the joint efforts of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the involvement of the Tereshchenko heirs’ foundation. Activists emphasize that this decision has become an important precedent for the protection of historical sites in the capital.

“The Northern Appellate Economic Court denied the developer LLC ‘Elevatormlynbud’ the satisfaction of its appeal. The entrepreneurs planned to develop the famous estate of Ivan Mykolayovych Tereshchenko, located at 34 Shevchenko Boulevard,” wrote Dmytro Perov.

According to public figures, the attempt to develop instead of restoring the historical structure has sparked widespread resonance among residents and experts in the field of cultural heritage protection.
