Meanwhile, Cypriot media reported that during his stay in Ukraine, the President of Cyprus will hold talks with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and will also meet with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Context of the Visit and Cooperation
This visit comes amid Cyprus’s preparations for its presidency of the Council of the European Union, scheduled for the first half of 2026. In October of this year, the heads of state of Ukraine and Cyprus already held discussions on key issues, including joint efforts to achieve peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine, EU expansion, and cooperation in the defense sector.
“Volodymyr Zelensky then invited the President of Cyprus to visit Ukraine.”
The current visit is expected to enhance bilateral dialogue and support for Ukraine from Cyprus on European and security issues.
