The Patient Needs Urgent Heart Transplant

The girl’s heart has almost completely stopped, which is why she has been connected to the ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) system, currently the only option to support her vital functions. Doctors emphasize that without an immediate heart transplant, it will be impossible to save Anastasia.

Call to the Donor Community

The Director of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, cardiac surgeon Boris Todurov, has reached out via social media to all professionals involved in donation and transplantation, as well as to transplant program coordinators in medical institutions across the country and the Ukrainian Transplant Coordination Center. He stressed the need to inform about potential donors as quickly as possible to give the young patient a chance at life.

“We urgently need help to save this girl.

Doctors are calling on everyone who can influence the situation to promptly relay information about possible donors to the Ukrainian Transplant Coordination Center. Anastasia’s life depends on the speed of decision-making and the coordinated efforts of the transplant community.
