12-year-old Inna from the Brovary district urgently needs a mechanical heart implant due to a severe illness.

The Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has appealed to the public for help in raising funds to purchase a mechanical heart for the girl. Inna has been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, and her condition is assessed as critical. Due to her rare blood type and specific medical parameters, finding a donor heart for transplantation in the near future is impossible. The only chance for the girl to wait for a transplant is through the urgent implantation of a mechanical heart, emphasized the Heart Institute.
Cost of the Equipment and Call for Help
The Berlin Heart mechanical heart is complex and expensive medical equipment, the purchase of which is not covered by the state budget. The Heart Institute already has experience successfully using such a device to save another child who is now preparing for discharge. According to the director of the institution, renowned cardiac surgeon Boris Todurov:
“Unfortunately, the budget does not provide for the purchase of such high-cost equipment, so we appeal to you once again to provide financial assistance for the purchase of the Berlin Heart mechanical heart. Last time, we used such a heart to save another girl, and she is now preparing for discharge. Thank you to everyone who participated in her fate,” said the director of the Heart Institute, renowned Ukrainian cardiac surgeon Boris Todurov.
