The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has served a notice of suspicion to the director of the Department of Municipal Safety of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The investigation established that the official committed service negligence during the procurement of emergency rescue vehicles and special equipment for the needs of the capital’s rescuers. According to the case materials, in 2022, the department purchased six specialized vehicles and additional equipment at inflated prices, causing significant material damage to the community of Kyiv.
Damages and Consequences for the Community
“It has been established that in 2022, the Department of Municipal Safety purchased 6 specialized vehicles for the capital’s rescuers at inflated prices, as well as additional equipment for them. These actions caused damages to the territorial community of the capital amounting to nearly 11 million hryvnias,” the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office stated.
A criminal proceeding has been opened under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for service negligence that caused serious consequences due to the improper performance of duties.
Sanctions and Responsibility of the Official
This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years, with possible additional restrictions on the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for up to three years.
