Україна оновила угоду про вільну торгівлю зі Швейцарією, Норвегією, Ісландією та Ліхтенштейном

Ukraine will receive €71 million in grant financial assistance from France. This was announced by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, who emphasized that the funds will be partially directed towards supporting the Ukrainian energy sector.

Deepening Cooperation in the Energy Sector

According to the minister, the agreement was reached during a meeting between the Ukrainian delegation and France’s Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Roland Lescure. Part of the funding will be allocated for the development and modernization of Ukraine’s energy facilities.

“We also signed a document on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. This lays a strong foundation for deepening strategic partnership and forms a framework for the restoration and modernization of Ukraine’s energy sector,” the minister wrote on his social media.

France’s Assistance and Modern Challenges for Energy

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that France has already delivered over 50 shipments of humanitarian energy assistance to Ukraine, including more than 140 powerful generators. In addition, the French side allocated €5.7 million to the Energy Support Fund and made a decision to supply an additional 150 generators in February.

The minister also noted that France is participating in three key infrastructure projects to enhance the resilience of regional energy systems in Ukraine. French companies are showing readiness for further cooperation and strengthening of the partnership.

Since February 2022, following the onset of the full-scale invasion, Russia has regularly targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The situation has worsened since the fall of 2025, when attacks on energy facilities and heating supply systems significantly intensified. The Security Service of Ukraine qualifies these strikes as crimes against humanity and reports that at least 256 air attacks by Russia on the country’s energy facilities have been recorded since the beginning of the heating season.
