The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has published the personal details of a serviceman of the Russian army, believed to be involved in organizing the missile strike on the children’s hospital ‘Okhmatdyt’, which occurred on July 8, 2024.
Identification of the War Criminal
According to intelligence information, the war criminal is Major Denis Alekseyevich Sheynov, who serves as the head of the special engineering service of the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division. This unit was directly involved in the terrorist attack on the medical facility, where 627 children were present at the time of the shelling.
“Major of the RF Armed Forces Denis Alekseyevich Sheynov is the head of the special engineering service of the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division. This unit was directly involved in the terrorist attack on the medical facility, where 627 children were being treated at the time of the strike,” the statement reads.
In his position, Sheynov was responsible for the technical preparation of X-101 cruise missiles for their use by the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation.
Biographical Data and Service of Sheynov
Denis Sheynov was born on January 30, 1978, in Saratov (passport: series 6302 No. 906672, issued on March 15, 2002, by the Internal Affairs Department of the Kirov District of Saratov). He is a graduate of the Saratov Higher Military Engineering Command School of Missile Troops.
In 2018, Sheynov served in Syria, where he reportedly carried out “special tasks.” He has been awarded several Russian medals, including the “For Military Valor” II class (2000), “For Distinction in Military Service” I class (2015), and the badge “Participant of the Military Operation in Syria” (2019).
Sheynov is married to Yelena Mikhailovna Shabalova (born April 30, 1976), and they have a son and a daughter. The family resides at: Saratov, Batavina Street, House 12, Apartment 266.
“The GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reminds: there will be just retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people,” the intelligence agency emphasized.
