“. He also reported that the ministry handed a notification of these measures to the Ukrainian ambassador in Hungary. The Ukrainian embassy has not officially commented on this information yet.

Context and Reaction from Ukrainian Authorities

This statement came just hours after the Security Service of Ukraine reported the uncovering of an agent network of Hungarian intelligence, which allegedly engaged in espionage activities in Ukraine. According to the SBU, this is the first case in Ukraine’s history where agents of foreign intelligence working against state interests have been exposed.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister reacted to this information, noting that no official reports have been received from the Ukrainian side regarding the detention of two individuals in Transcarpathia suspected of working for Hungarian intelligence. He emphasized that the country’s authorities continue to assess the situation and are adhering to a diplomatic approach in resolving the conflict.

The escalation of tensions between the two countries occurred ahead of significant political and security events in the region, increasing the interest of the international community in the situation.
