Zelensky stated that Ukraine will host the leaders of these nations during an online meeting in the format of ‘United Expeditionary Forces.’ This format includes the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Ukraine. The aim of the event is to coordinate further steps towards creating a joint security architecture and ensuring stability in the region.
Efforts to Ensure Peace and Security
According to Zelensky, Kyiv is actively cooperating with the United States to achieve a sustainable ceasefire that will last at least 30 days. He noted that the negotiation process is currently focused on creating conditions for lasting peace and security in the country.
“We need this coalition, and it must be strong enough to guarantee security in line with our shared vision. I am confident that Europe will only benefit from such teamwork – it will help strengthen the entire existing security architecture. Tomorrow – meetings”
Prospects and International Guarantees
At recent diplomatic meetings, including in Paris, leaders from 27 countries discussed possible security guarantees for Ukraine following a potential ceasefire. Additionally, they considered the deployment of ‘coalition of the willing’ forces on Ukrainian territory.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated during the summit that the troops of this coalition, led by France and the United Kingdom, will not be stationed directly on the front line but will operate at strategic points in peaceful zones as security support forces.
