Illegal Cottages Discovered in Kyiv’s Troieshchynski Luki Nature Reserve

An instance of illegal construction of residential cottages has been recorded in Kyiv within the landscape nature reserve of local significance “Troieshchynski Luki,” located near Lake Almazne.

Illegal Construction in a Protected Area

Ecologists reported the emergence of two residential cottages built without the necessary permits within the protected area. According to their information, this grossly violates the usage regime of the reserve and poses risks to the unique ecosystem of the “Troieshchynski Luki.”

In order to protect the environment, specialists from the Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center have appealed to the Office of the Prosecutor General. The ecologists demand the initiation of a criminal proceeding, identification of those involved in the illegal construction, holding them accountable, and assessing the damage caused to the environment.

“To protect the reserve, the ecologists of the KEC have appealed to the Office of the Prosecutor General requesting the initiation of a criminal proceeding, identification of the guilty parties, holding them accountable, and calculating compensation for the damage caused.”
