This is reported by Kyiv24
In the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, in the territory of the landscape reserve “Protasiv Yar”, activists prevented illegal tree cutting. The incident occurred in an area that has been the subject of controversial developments multiple times.
Tree Cutting for the Development of a Recreation Area
According to the public community “Protect Protasiv Yar”, this time the illegal activities were carried out by LLC “Protasiv Yar” along with the owners of the restaurant “From Sunset to Dawn” (Sunset Terrace). The perpetrators planned to open a recreational area with a pool, beer, hookahs, and DJs on the reserve’s territory, which was the reason for the tree cutting. It is known that these actions contradict the decision of the Kyiv City Council, which declared the Protasiv Yar hills a landscape reserve of local significance in 2022, and in 2023, this area was named after Roman Ratushnyi.
“Tree cutting has started again in Protasiv Yar. Despite the Kyiv City Council’s decision in the summer of 2022 to recognize the Protasiv hills as a local landscape reserve ‘Protasiv Yar’, and the naming of this reserve in 2023 after Roman Ratushnyi, attempts to develop the area continue,” the post states.

Police Documented Violations
After the fact of tree cutting was discovered, the police promptly arrived at the scene. The investigative team documented the violations and initiated the appropriate procedural actions. Activists emphasize that those responsible must be held accountable.

The public calls on the authorities to strengthen control over compliance with legislation in protected areas to prevent similar violations in the future.
