Klychko warned about possible responsibility for disrupting the meetings of the Kyiv Defense Council

Кличка попередили про відповідальність за зрив засідань Ради оборони Києва

The Kyiv City Military Administration has given Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klychko until Monday to attend a meeting of the capital’s Defense Council.

This is reported by Kyiv24

Head of the KMWA Timur Tkachенко reported that on October 2, Vitali Klychko again did not appear at the meeting of the Kyiv Defense Council. As a result, the meeting had to be postponed to October 6, Monday. If the mayor ignores participation in the council’s work again next time, the KMWA will act within its legal powers as provided by current documents.

Warning from KMWA regarding responsibility

“I can’t find Vitali Klychko to hold the Defense Council. We planned for today, but we are postponing to Monday… If on Monday the mayor again lacks a few hours for defense issues and the city’s vital activities, then the Defense Council will have one leader. As stipulated by the foundational documents,” wrote Timur Tkachенко.

The head of the KMWA also expressed dissatisfaction that the city mayor finds time for vacations and foreign trips but constantly ignores key meetings related to the city’s security and its vital activities.

Questions that remain unanswered

Timur Tkachенко emphasized that members of the Kyiv Defense Council expect information from the second co-chair — the city mayor — regarding a number of important issues. In particular, this concerns the status of the creation of a network of mobile shelters, details of investment in the capital’s military hospital, reasons for the lack of funding for barrier-free projects at the medical facility, the operation of the metro during alarms, as well as the absence of the mayor at meetings regarding the funding of anti-drone initiatives.
