Rescue operations continue in Kyiv following a nighttime shelling by Russia, resulting in one death and 26 injuries.

Rescuers retrieved the body of the deceased from under the rubble
In the night of July 4, Ukraine’s capital experienced yet another attack from Russian forces. As a result of the missile strike, a building was destroyed, under the rubble of which rescuers found the body of a deceased individual. This marks the first confirmed casualty of that night.
Number of injured and the scale of damage control
As a result of the shelling in Kyiv, 26 individuals were injured, including one child. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service have already provided necessary assistance to 39 citizens. Rescue and recovery efforts are ongoing – firefighting and debris removal are in progress. To date, over 300 tons of construction debris have been removed from the site of the tragedy.
“In total, 26 people were injured in the capital, including 1 child. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service assisted 39 individuals. The aftermath of the attack is still being addressed: firefighting and debris removal are ongoing. Currently, over 300 tons of construction debris have been removed,” the statement reads.
Canine units, 512 rescuers, 135 units of State Emergency Service equipment, including a firefighting robot, as well as police, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross, and other municipal services are involved in the recovery efforts. Work continues at an intensified pace to rescue individuals and mitigate the consequences of the enemy attack.
