International media have reported on a new draft peace agreement proposed by the United States, which involves significant concessions from Ukraine. Among the main points, discussions include issues related to territories, armaments, and the reduction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The draft also mentions the possibility of reducing the volume of American military aid, which plays a key role in countering Russian aggression.

Key details of the US peace proposals
According to journalists, the proposals from the United States include restrictions for Ukraine regarding the admission of foreign troops to its territory, as well as a continued refusal to receive long-range weapons. It is noted that these demands largely align with the position of the Russian Federation, which was proclaimed at the beginning of this year when former US President Donald Trump initiated direct negotiations with Moscow regarding the resolution of the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, Ukrainian officials have not officially commented on these reports. An official familiar with the proposals confirmed their general essence but declined to provide further explanations.
Reactions from Kyiv and Washington
The White House is currently refraining from comments, and the US State Department has not responded to journalists’ inquiries. The emergence of information about possible concessions has caused a wide resonance, especially against the backdrop of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Turkey. During this trip, there was no meeting between Zelensky and US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, although this was discussed in the media.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the negotiations in his Telegram channel and noted Donald Trump’s determination and leadership in seeking ways to end the war:
“Only President Trump and the United States of America have enough power to finally end the war,” Zelensky stated.
It is expected that the President of Ukraine will meet with representatives of the US Department of Defense in Kyiv on November 20.
Previously, Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly stated that Ukraine will not agree to concessions regarding territorial integrity or the reduction of its Armed Forces. He emphasized that such steps would only weaken the Ukrainian state in the face of a potential threat of a new invasion.
According to Axios, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff was to meet with Zelensky in Turkey, but the visit was postponed. However, Witkoff discussed the peace plan with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, during a recent meeting in Miami. Ukrainian officials confirmed that Kyiv is aware of the active work of the American side on new proposals.
In October, Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s readiness for a ceasefire and diplomatic efforts. At the same time, he categorically rejected the possibility of Ukrainian troops leaving certain territories, stating that this would mean “gifting our land to the aggressor.”
