Officials Ignore City Authorities’ Orders for Transparency in Fairs

This is reported by Kyiv24

The Kyiv City State Administration continues to fail to eliminate corruption schemes related to the organization of city fairs. According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenkо, responsible officials are not following orders to implement transparent rules for street trading in the capital.

Lack of Changes in the City Fair System

Tymur Tkachenkо reported that the director of the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Industry, Volodymyr Kostiakov, was supposed to ensure transparency in the organization of fairs as instructed by the Mayor of Kyiv. However, a month after receiving the task, no results have been achieved. The head of the Kyiv Military Administration emphasizes that the delay is due to the interests of certain individuals, financial gains, and longstanding connections that hinder the reform of the trading sector.

“The director of the Department of Industry, Volodymyr Kostiakov, was supposed to make the fair system transparent, as instructed by the mayor. A month has passed, and the result is zero. Why? Because behind this ‘delay’ are names, money, and old connections,” Tymur Tkachenkо wrote.

Sabotage of Reforms and Betrayal of Community Interests

The head of the Kyiv Military Administration has repeatedly emphasized that his orders, as well as the instructions from Mayor Klitschko, remain unfulfilled. He stresses that sabotaging changes during wartime is not just inaction but a manifestation of betrayal of the interests of the city community. According to Tkachenkо, this situation leads to a shortage of funds for protecting the city’s critical infrastructure.

He noted that as long as such corrupt practices persist, the capital will not be able to ensure an adequate level of funding for security and development needs.
