The city authorities are preparing an order for the daily closure of Kyiv’s main street

This is reported by Kyiv24

Starting this week, traffic on Khreshchatyk will be halted daily at 09:00 during the nationwide minute of silence. This decision is being made to honor the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.

Organization of the Closure and Involved Services

According to the prepared order, the patrol police, the Traffic Organization Center, the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, and units responsible for community communications will be involved in organizing the traffic stop on Khreshchatyk. All these services will receive the necessary instructions for the proper conduct of the event.

“Khreshchatyk is the heart of the capital. And the capital is the heart and example for all of Ukraine. I expect understanding and respect for those who gave their lives for our lives. Every day at 09:00. Stop. Honor,” wrote Timur Tkachenko.

Commemoration of the Fallen in Various Cities of Ukraine

Similar initiatives for daily commemoration of the fallen have long been implemented in many cities across the country. However, the Kyiv City State Administration had long postponed its implementation, citing “technical, legal reasons, and the scale of the city.” Now the capital is joining the nationwide tradition aimed at uniting society in honoring the heroes.
