Суд не дозволив відновити демонтаж історичної будівлі в центрі міста

The ancient building on Reitarska will remain in place – the court rejected the developer’s request

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, the court did not allow the resumption of the demolition of the Kyiv County Zemstvo building located at 3 Reitarska Street. This structure, built in 1913, is designated as a historical monument and is an integral part of Kyiv’s architectural heritage.

Attempt to Build an Office Center Instead of a Monument

The construction company “NEST” filed a lawsuit requesting the lifting of the arrest on this property, which prevents the management of the asset. Representatives of the developer insisted that the restrictions hinder their rights to property and plans to construct a new premium-class office center named Reitar Hall on the site of the historical building.

Public Resonance Surrounding the “Building on Reitarska”

A significant public outcry regarding this situation arose last summer when the developer began active work on altering the facade of the monument. Heritage defenders and city residents opposed such actions, emphasizing the building’s value to Kyiv’s cultural landscape.

“The request to lift the arrest and permission for construction work was submitted by the lawyer of the construction company ‘NEST’, as the existing restrictions hinder the management of the property owned by the company.”

As of today, the court’s decision has made it impossible to resume demolition, marking a victory for advocates of preserving the city’s historical heritage.
