In Lukiivka, Kyiv, the conflict surrounding the demolition of a historic building without the necessary permits continues. Officials from the Kyiv City Administration, particularly the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection, have already issued an official order to the developer demanding that work be halted.

According to information posted on the social media page of heritage protector Dmytro Perov, the building in question is part of the historical heritage – the tram and trolleybus management building, constructed in 1910. Reports indicate that
“In honor of Kyiv Day, the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City Administration issued an order to stop work on the trolleybus and tram management building, constructed in 1910”

Illegal demolition and government response
According to Dmytro Perov, the developer LLC «Budkhol» has already managed to remove the roof, dismantle all the windows, and has begun to take apart the brickwork of the upper rows, as well as the internal ceilings. They report that the work is being carried out without the proper permits, raising concerns among the cultural community and authorities.
Officials are awaiting a response from the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office and other relevant authorities to hold those responsible accountable and to protect the city’s historical heritage. The situation has sparked outrage among the public and cultural heritage specialists, as the destruction of historical monuments without proper procedures contradicts Ukrainian laws and values.
