Petition and the Value of Natural Sites
A corresponding electronic petition has already been posted on the Kyiv City Council’s website and has been signed by many residents. According to the authors, these lakes, located in the Darnytsia district, have significant environmental protection value. They play an important role in maintaining ecological balance, contribute to the restoration of flora and fauna, and serve as places for active and safe recreation for city residents.
“The Osokorky area, particularly the Tyahle, Martyshev, and Nebrezh lakes, are valuable natural sites that need to be preserved and protected to ensure the sustainable development of the city and the conservation of biodiversity”
Impact of Motor Vehicles and Benefits of Creating the Park
The initiative’s authors emphasize that motor vehicle traffic in this area leads to the degradation of the natural environment, air pollution, soil destruction, and the creation of unplanned paths, which negatively affects wildlife and the comfort of residents. They are convinced that the establishment of an ecological park will contribute to the preservation and restoration of green spaces, the development of biodiversity, and the promotion of pedestrian, cycling, and educational tourism, which will positively impact the ecology and quality of life in the city.
