Residents of Kyiv are urging the city authorities to ensure unobstructed traffic on the Darnytskyi Bridge by submitting a relevant electronic petition on the Kyiv City Council’s website. According to their position, the current situation with limited traffic from the left bank to the right bank causes regular traffic jams and complicates the transportation situation.

Justification and Proposals from Kyiv Residents
The authors of the initiative note that as of today, drivers traveling from the left bank to the right towards the Kyiv Highway are forced to use only one lane, which significantly complicates road traffic. They propose organizing traffic in four lanes in each direction, as the width of the bridge’s roadway is 28 meters, which is more than sufficient to accommodate a higher volume of traffic.
Comparison with Other Bridges
The signatories point out that, for example, the width of the roadway on the Northern Bridge is 25.7 meters, and it also provides for a normal traffic flow. Therefore, they believe that increasing the number of lanes on the Darnytskyi Bridge will significantly improve the traffic situation in the capital, reduce congestion, and enhance comfort for drivers and passengers.
