On the night of December 23, seven high-rise residential buildings were damaged due to the fall of debris from a drone in the Svyatoshyn district. One of the buildings suffered the most, as it was hit by drone fragments.
Gas Supply and Residents’ Safety
According to the head of the Svyatoshyn District State Administration, Georgiy Zantaraya, gas pipes on the top floor of the affected building were significantly damaged. As a result, gas supply to this building is planned to be temporarily disconnected for safety reasons. Meanwhile, inspections are ongoing in the other damaged buildings to preserve gas supply where possible. The district administration notes that it is making every effort to ensure that residents do not go without heat and gas during the winter period.
“In this building, gas will most likely be turned off due to damage to the gas pipes on the top floor. Inspections are being conducted in other buildings to maintain gas supply. We understand that it is cold outside, so heat will remain in this building, and we will try to ensure that gas is also available,” said Zantaraya.
Elimination of Consequences and Injured
Local authorities stated that by evening they plan to close all broken windows in the buildings and completely clear the surrounding area of debris and garbage caused by the attack.
As a result of this airstrike by the Russian Federation on Kyiv, five people were injured, including a 16-year-old girl. According to the district head, assistance to the victims is being provided promptly.
