Umierov emphasized that “the Netherlands is a strategic partner that consistently supports Ukraine at all levels: political, diplomatic, and military,” and expressed gratitude for the decision to allocate an additional 3.5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine this year.

Discussion on Defense Cooperation

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to enhancing defense in the air and at sea, as well as focusing on cooperation in the defense industry.

“The Netherlands supports the ‘Drone Line’ project and invests in Ukrainian production. We invite Dutch companies to participate in joint projects in the defense sector. At the same time, Ukraine is ready to invest in partnership initiatives in the Netherlands,” Umierov noted.

As a result of the meeting, a Letter of Intent was signed aimed at improving the efficiency of cooperation in defense procurement. At the beginning of March, the Dutch Prime Minister announced a total state support for Ukraine amounting to 3.5 billion euros for 2026.

The Netherlands is actively providing support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, particularly through the supply of military aid – ammunition, F-16 aircraft, and air defense systems, as well as by conducting training for Ukrainian military personnel.
