On the night of July 31, Kyiv once again endured a combined airstrike from Russian occupiers. During this massive attack, several civilian and residential infrastructure objects were damaged, including the main mosque of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, “Umma.”

Damage to the Largest Mosque and Community Reaction

The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, reported the consequences of the attack on social media. The “Umma” mosque is one of the most important religious centers for the Muslim community in Ukraine, where thousands of believers gather for communal prayer every Friday.

“We are unbreakable. We know that we will win because this is a matter of justice. Ukraine has already won. And with such actions, we see that they (the Russian military — ed.) are powerless; they can only strike at civilians, they can only do what brings tears and pain,” emphasized Suleymanov.

Consequences of the Night Attack on Kyiv

According to rescue workers, as a result of the night strike using drones and missiles, civilian infrastructure objects were significantly affected. Among the residents of Kyiv, fatalities have been recorded, and several dozen people have been injured, with this number expected to rise, according to experts. In addition to the “Umma” mosque, other buildings, including residential houses and public facilities, were also damaged.

The Ukrainian Muslim community, as well as representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, expressed their determination to restore the religious sanctuary and return to peaceful life. At the same time, the attacks by the Russian Federation once again demonstrate targeted aggression against civilian residents and cultural monuments of the capital.
