In the capital, law enforcement officers arrested a man who threatened to kill and robbed a girl using a toy gun.

Circumstances of the Attack in the Darnytsia District
A 23-year-old resident of Kyiv reported to the police about the attack that occurred in the morning while she was heading to work in the Darnytsia district. The assailant followed the girl and unexpectedly grabbed her by the neck in a deserted area, pressing a gun to her back. Threatening her with violence, he forced the victim to hand over all her money.

Arrest and Consequences for the Attacker
Criminal investigation officers identified the assailant’s identity and location in less than half an hour. He turned out to be a 26-year-old native of the Chernihiv region who had recently moved to Kyiv in search of work. The police seized part of the money taken by the attacker, as well as the toy gun used during the crime. The man had already spent some of the stolen funds.
The assailant has been charged under part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery committed under martial law. This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
