The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, made another working trip to the Pokrovsk direction, where he held a meeting with the leadership of the units carrying out combat tasks in this region. During the meeting, the command comprehensively addressed the issues of defending the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnograd, as well as the surrounding areas.

Defense Priorities and Tasks in the Direction
According to Syrskyi, the Ukrainian military has clear tasks: to defend positions, detect and destroy the maximum number of personnel and equipment of the Russian occupation forces, effectively disrupt enemy logistics, and counter aerial attacks. He also reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are blocking Russia’s attempts to storm the cities with small infantry groups. For this purpose, designated units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting “active operations” to search for and eliminate the enemy. Over the past week, only in Pokrovsk, an area of about 11.5 square meters has been cleared.
“The enemy, having suffered significant losses and encountering our effective resistance, has been forced to deploy its operational reserve in the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration. The aggressor is constantly trying to change the directions of attacks here, using deceptive infiltration tactics, including disguising themselves as civilians or using them as cover,” said the Commander-in-Chief.
The Situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd
During the working meeting, issues of strengthening units, coordinating the use of reserves, and ensuring the advancement of Ukrainian assault units were also discussed. The command emphasizes the need to maintain existing and establish additional logistical routes, as well as timely supply of units and evacuation of the wounded.
Pokrovsk, whose population, according to local authorities, was about 1,250 as of the end of October (compared to over 60,000 before the full-scale invasion by Russia), remains an important transport hub and has been under a real threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
On November 23, the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a successful clearance operation in the central areas of Pokrovsk, particularly around the railway station, pedagogical college, and Soborny Square. Thanks to these actions, the aggressor was unable to accumulate forces and increase pressure on the northern part of the city.
